Hi there!
It’s February and I’m so grateful! January was kind of a rough month for me. Full of a lot of anxiety and depression as S.A.D hit me hard. I spent a lot of time reading a couple of old favorites and thinking about our homeschooling.
I also finished a major edit for Begin Again, and next week I’ll start going line by line to make sure everything is how I’d like it to be—before I send it to my editor in March—I’m looking forward to it. This book is different than the other books I’ve written in a few ways, so I’m hopeful that it will find its right people/readers and that y’all will love it!
Keep reading to see more of the release schedule for Begin Again!
It’s been unusually warm this week but I’m not going to complain about that. We’ve been able to go out on walks without coats on in the afternoons, and that’s been wonderful. Getting outside has been helping my mental state. While I know I’ll probably feel this looming cloud of anxiety and depression until the clocks change in March, getting outside helps though.
My goal for February is to get out every day, even if it’s just for 5 minutes (because we do have some super cold days predicted at the end of this week) but I want to spend more time outside.
In January, I made homemade rolls and I even learned how to make mozzarella. It was a lot easier than I expected. I used this kit to make the mozzarella. I don’t know if I’ll make it all the time, but I think it’ll be something I’ll add to my rotation now and then. This month, I’m hoping to make a sourdough starter, so we’ll see how that goes!
I’ve begun line edits of Begin Again, this will be my last read-through before I send it off to my editor in a month for copy edits (so she can help me with all the grammar that I can’t ever seem to get right). I edited this book differently than my first two books, and I’ll share my full process soon because I liked it so much. I know it might need some tweaking, but for the most part, I think I finally figured out a process that works for me.
I also re-started my summer romcom and am at 500 words. The goal in February is to write 15 minutes a day, Monday-Friday to add more progress on this first draft before I give it all of my attention in March.
The special edition of The Luck of Finding You will be released this month! You’ll be able to get a copy on the 22nd. This edition will be in paperback only and will include a bonus epilogue, which you’ll also get for free here in my newsletter on release day!
AND…here are a few important dates to mark down for the Begin Again release schedule! Good things are happening, and I’ll start talking about Begin Again everywhere at the end of this month.
More details to come!
Wild Grain bread box — while I want to learn how to make my own bread, this box has been a great way to have more fresh bread in our house with our dinners. I LOVE this box so much, and you can get $30 off with this link. Let me know if you try it! Whenever I make a sourdough loaf, it’s gone in the next day or two and there are only 3 of us at home. We also love the chocolate croissants!
My new Kindle case from Page the Shop. It’s so cute and makes me happy every time I look at it!
I’ve also been planning out some re-reads for this year. I used to re-read books all the time, but it’s been a few years since I prioritized it. Here’s to hoping 2024 will be full of books new and old!
Also, two things related to Substack: I’ve started a new, separate Substack that will be more like a blog/essay. You can subscribe here if you’d like. I’ll be sharing my monthly reading updates there as well as weekly posts about good things I’m reading/listening to on the internet. I hope you’ll join me!
And, the second Substack-related thing is that in the coming months, I’ll be easing out of Patreon and moving everything over to this Substack. This means that a few times a month, on Mondays, I will have paid posts where I share the inside scoop on publishing, writing, and early reveals. You can upgrade your subscription below if that’s something you’re interested in!
Whew, I think that’s everything! I’ll see you on the release day of The Luck of Finding You Special Edition. Have a good month!
