Hi friends,
Happy Friday. We’ve made it (almost) to the weekend! This morning has been quiet and mostly spent outside weeding and playing with my daughter. It’s been a nice change of pace from my usual frantic emotions that often come from using Instagram a lot. (I was there yesterday and I have lots of thoughts) but I’m off again and I’ll be mostly tech-less over the weekend, though I may squeeze in some editing.
I’m at the point in The Rules of Mistletoe that I actually really love editing this book. I have to keep telling myself that breaks are good and that doing other things is actually necessary. But friends, I do love this little romance novel full of some actual traditions from my own childhood. It’s a fun romance with also a lot of personal nostalgia and it’s been so fun to work on!
We’re just over 2 months away from its release (I know, I feel like I’m cutting things close because I’m still working on edits, but I promise, it’ll be ready in time.) Plus, I was planning to be done by now and then in May and June, I was way too in my head to work on anything. But being off IG on the daily has helped immensely with that.
Anyway, enough ramblings about my editing. Here are a few good things from this week.
Beautiful & ordinary things this week 💕
I need your help!! If you’re an audiobook listener, could you fill out this quick poll? Yes, I’m in the process of figuring out audiobooks, because I know people (including myself) love them! So hopefully more info coming soon.
One of the best things I read on the internet this week was this article (linked below). “News flash: there are possibly aliens among us. How are we feeling about that? Everyone ok? I don’t know what to say except it’s weird. Everything is weird. Who knows what’s real anymore? Am I real anymore?”
I’ve never read The Lord of the Rings series, but I’m planning to read along with Breanne this fall!
Currently 💕
📖 Reading - I’m still not reading much on my own, but we read aloud The Fabled Stables: Willa the Wisp which was really fun!
📺 Watching - This weekend, my number one plan is to watch Happiness for Beginners! I’m trying to go in with low expectations since I love the book so much, and I really do want to enjoy the movie.
🎧 Listening - I’ve been re-reading/listening to Happiness for Beginners, but I don’t think I’ll finish before I watch the movie (which is okay, I’ve already re-read it this year)
🎶 On my playlist - Foolish One (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)
