Hello, dear readers!
I’m at the point pre-release where I am somewhat starting to freak out about the fact that my second book comes out in 3 weeks, but I’m also bursting with excitement.
I love this sweet, holiday romcom with all of my heart, and it’s ready for you. So, if you haven’t yet, you can pre-order the e-book now (Have you secured your copy yet? I promise you don’t want to miss it!) The paperbacks will be available during release week, but there is no pre-order. AND exciting news, The Rules of Mistletoe will also be on Kindle Unlimited.
Speaking of which, The Luck of Finding You, my first romance in this series, is BACK on KU, so if you want to read it and start meeting some of the characters you’ll see in TROM, you can read it now!!
Gah. Yup. This is me just talking about books that I WROTE and feeling slightly weird about shouting about them—and at the same time never wanting to shut up about them—Being an author is weird, but I also love it so, so much.
Writing Progress 👩🏻💻
The Rules of Mistletoe - I finished my proofreading yesterday, and my editor has it for one last read-through on her end. Then everything will finally be ready (for some reason I feel no stress, even though my book comes out in 3 weeks and I still need to finish formatting.) I feel good about this one and I can’t wait for you to read it.
Patreon Novella - This one is on pause for the moment, but I’ll be back to working on it in October
Annie + Sam’s Book - I am absolutely obsessed with Annie and Sam’s book. Last week, I hit the 10k mark, which means it’s finally starting to feel more like something and less like a bunch of scrambled ideas inside my head. I’ve been drafting all week and am hoping to hit 20k on Saturday. I also am sharing more behind-the-scenes writing stuff over on Patreon each month if that’s your jam you can join me there. If you like these mini-monthly updates though I’m happy to have you here!
And, very soon, I’ll have more details about all things Annie and Sam, but if you snoop around the internet, you might be able to find a few things 👀👀 But I won’t officially be sharing anything until after TROM releases.

📖 Reading - Since I’ve been editing and drafting all the things, I decided it was time to re-read an old favorite. I’ve been flying through the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi, and I’ll always be an Aaron Warner girlie.
📺 Watching - Still re-watching White Collar, I’ve made it to season 2.
🎧 Listening - Assistant to the Villian, I’m intrigued.
🎶 On my playlist - Olivia Rodrigo’s new album, Guts.

Life has felt a bit busy lately. I’m homeschooling our daughter, and all the fall sports have started (have you ever watched 5-year-olds play soccer? It might be my new favorite thing). Part of me wants everything to slow way down, but as we enter fall and winter, I’m also nervous about what that will look like for my mental health.
Being busy—getting out of the house almost daily—helps so much with my seasonal affective disorder (SAD), but it’s hard for me to get out on my own unless I have actual places to be and commitments to other people. So, I’m trying not to run around in this busy time like a chicken with her head cut off, but I’m also starting to prepare for the coming months. I’ve got plenty of writing projects that I hope to use to keep my mind occupied, but maybe I’ll try something else too.
If you’re like me, and personally love fall and winter but your brain doesn’t, what type of things do you do to help when you’re feeling depressed? I’d love to hear!
